Specifier & Architects
With sustainability in mind, the Savortex EcoCurve™ hand dryer range has been meticulously designed by award-winning British designer Matthew Conley to meet LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) compliance.
The aerodynamic design invites users and compliments modern office décor. The range is available in bespoke colours and customised branding.
While sustainability is about the future of our society, for today’s industries and businesses, it is also about commercial success.
The following paragraphs explain how the Savortex product design exceeds specific LEED standards and why contractors and specifiers should consider our unique solutions to help their sustainably focused clients meet environmental targets while fulfilling commercial objectives and profitability through our unique, data-driven, energy and cost-saving technology; it’s a win, win for all.
What is LEED compliance?
It is a set of rating systems for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of green buildings, homes & neighbourhoods. Developed by the U.S Green Building Council, LEED is intended to help building owners and operators be environmentally responsible and use resources efficiently.
Example MEP Performance Specification for SAVORTEX smart hand dryer design, and how it achieves LEED Compliance
SAVORTEX Hand Dryer Technical suitability in line with the MEP Performance Specification
1.06 Operation and Maintenance
- The designs and installations shall be carried so that operation and maintenance is optimised.
- Energy Efficiency: Minimize energy consumption while providing function, amenity, and comfort specified.
SAVORTEX hand dryers meet this standard: Powered at 450W and 550W the SAVORTEX range is the most energy efficient, and smart warm air hand dryer ever produced.
2.04 WARRANTIES
- Unless otherwise indicated within the individual specification sections, all equipment must be warrantied for a minimum of 12 months from the date of handover.
- The warranties shall be full parts and labour.
- The manufacturers shall ensure that the products are repaired within a reasonable time frame. If repair cannot be executed within a reasonable time frame, then the product must be replaced with new at no cost or a temporary unit must be installed in order to maintain service.
- In such instances where products are defective with recurring faults, the warranties shall be extended for a suitable period to ensure that the materials are not defective.
SAVORTEX smart hand dryers meets this standard. We offer an industry leading 5-year parts warranty.
Appendix 15.9 – LEED CONCEPT REPORT
Other Process Loads | Yes | Energy use kWh | 81,026.25 | 81,026.25 | 0 |
It can be seen from the above row extracted from the Appendix 15.9 – LEED CONCEPT REPORT that no energy saving is expected from “Other Process Loads”.
SAVORTEX Smart hand dryers meet this standard. The SAVORTEX hand dryer range is 50% to 88% more energy efficient than standard dryers on the market. SAVORTEX dryers will contribute to a saving in this category, where no saving is expected.
9.3 ID c1.3: Green Cleaning (1 point)
The Client will incorporate a “Green Cleaning” plan to ensure that the building will be environmentally friendly and provide a clean working and cleaning environment for its occupants.
The following actions must be incorporated into the Green Cleaning Plan, which is to be prepared by the Contractor:
- Use of environmentally friendly cleaning products along with product (chemical) management systems for accurate product dilution
- Reduction of particles and chemicals in the air
- Proper vacuuming, extraction, rinsing and drying
- Mechanical capture of dirt and removing it
- Application of disinfectant only in areas where necessary
- Promote safety and prevent cross-contamination
- Focus on preventive measures such as quick clean-up of accidents and spills
- Use environmentally sensitive paper products, such as recycled tissues and towels bleached without the use of chlorine
- Promote recycling programs to reduce waste streams.
SAVORTEX Smart hand dryers meet this standard: Our brushless motor and its anti-bacterial properties will assist in achieving this requirement.
9.5 ID c1.5: Advanced Energy Metering – LEED Pilot Credit 26 (1 point)
The contractor must install advanced energy metering for all whole-building energy sources AND major end uses that represent 10% or more of the total annual consumption of the building.
The additional metering must provide accurate building level and system level energy-use information to be recorded by the Building Management System (BMS)
The contractor must adhere to the following specs:
- Meters are permanently installed, record at intervals of 1 hour or less, and transmit data to a remote location.
- Electrical meters shall provide both consumption and demand. Whole building electrical meters should record power factor
- Data storage capabilities for at least 18 months
SAVORTEX Smart hand dryers meet this standard: The smart hand dryers in the only hand drying technology that has built-in ‘real time’ energy metering sensors and reporting features will assist in the achieving of this requirement.
